1989 Ford Escort XR3i – a great rare classic that is sure to catch the eye of a classic collector. The XR3 was an instant success in the 1980’s and was intended as a rival to the Volkswagen Gold GTi. Powered by a 1597cc four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission it proved a quick but unruly drive.
The XR3i was a revised model featuring Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was reputedly capable of reaching top speed of 120mph and 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds. It was a cult car amongst ‘boy racers’ and is still prized as one to this day.
Finished in Radiant Red with Grey Recaro interior it’s a timeless piece, it shows as having 93,836 recorded miles and just six former owners.
